Unsettled Place

Ten monkeys in a cell
One thousand bees in a hive
Analogies to the thoughts
That race nonstop inside me

Immersed in a world
With birds singing
Boats in the harbor
All seems calm, except my mind

I look at who I am
And see no reason for this state
So why do I experience
This unsettled place?

I have found ways
To settle my being
But none
Last . . .

The writer
Is dying to come out
And settle
This
Squabble

To settle
The unsettled mind
Write.
Release.
Peace.
