Why Is It So Hard?

I experienced some PAIN today
About a former LOVER
ONE who still has not left my mind
One who has not GONE away

A wave of SADNESS filled my eyes
Wondering why WE couldn't make it
REMORSE and bewilderment is what I felt
Being ALONE is never easy

A month is not a LONG time
To FORGET about someone so special
One who captured a big part of my HEART
Although then I didn't always ADMIT it

As the TEAR slowly tumbled down my cheek
I felt alone, LOST in life
This is a road I've traveled BEFORE
And another tear followed the FIRST

I wanted, I needed to be HELD
To be told it will be ALRIGHT
To be transported from this PAIN
To be cuddled, to be SOOTHED

While we don't always know the WHY of love
I have to believe there was a REASON
To teach me more about opening my HEART
Instead of building my WALLS from the start

I truly believe I am able to LOVE
But why couldn't it have worked with you?
To IMMERSE myself and another
In a sea of LOVE
