My 8th grade art students were thrilled to have
the opportunity to create illustrations for a
professional author. Mr. Essel clearly presented
his ideas and enthusiasm about the poems for
this book to the class. This allowed the
students to ask direct questions of the author
to help them understand the poems' meanings. I
am so proud of all of my art students' talent
and enthusiasm for this unique opportunity to
have their art nationally published at such a
young age. They all are very excited for the
first book to be released.
